happy 4th everyone!

You distinctly remember John telling you all about how he and his Dad set off a bunch of mini-fireworks in the backyard a few years back. He'd gone on and on and on about it, like he did every year, but that one stands out as, in retrospect, you realize it was the last Fourth of July he ever got to spend with his Dad. (Nevermind that it was the last one America as a whole ever celebrated- that's unimportant.)
He began looking forlorn on the first of July and you knew that you'd have to pull some serious strings if you wanted to get this shit done before the Wednesday. You, of course, used your mad skills and, come the fourth, you treated him to the best fireworks show he'll ever have.

Grandma talked Mom into letting me stay home (as long as I did my reading). So this is my celebration because everyone around here -insane redneck neighbors aside- is too pour for fireworks lol
